Community raises cry against deforestation

Soil erosion, landslides, haze, drought and floods are becoming an everyday reality as the destruction of rainforests continues in Kalimantan, the Indonesian territory on Borneo island. Well known for its pristine tropical forests, rich natural resources and exotic flora and fauna, it provides shelter and food to hundreds of endangered species. Many Dayak tribes (mountain people) have frequently tried to blockade logging roads to protect their forests, often to no avail. What can they do to save their forest? All forests?
